A huge THANK YOU to every who turned out yesterday to help beautify our neighborhood. The rain stopped just in time for volunteers at Jefferson Park, Chimborazo Park, Libby Hill, and 25th Street to give everything a good makeover.

Thank you, everyone!
And, let’s not forget that other areas need sprucing up including the sidewalks and treewells in front and alongside people’s homes. These need TLC as well and that’s the responsibility of the homeowner. Some treewells have “weed forests” growing from them, in particular in certain places on Broad Street. Not pretty!
A huge THANK YOU to the folks who don’t live in Church Hill but came out to beautify our space. I worked Chimborazo Park and I was 1 of 2 Church Hill residents that showed up. The rest of the people were from Glen Allen or The Fan. Just sayin’.
Wonderful, and thanks also to those who adopted a block ’til September: http://chpn.net/news/2015/01/24/can-you-volunteer-to-keep-the-litter-picked-up-on-one-block_40002/
Thank you to Mary and Chuck Field who pruned the trees and crepe myrtles in Jefferson Park prior to the clean-up. They look great!!
Kathleen Sanders,
The reason that Church Hill residents don’t participate at the levels you think they should is because maybe they have seen to many people just throw trash on the ground walking down the street or watch trash blow around waiting for the bus and not pick it up when there is a trash can right there.
It’s a waste of time to keep picking up after people like this that don’t care.
#8 Do you think we should just allow ourselves to be buried in trash? If you don’t pick it up are you much different than the one who threw it down?
