Armstrong closed today for emergency AC fix

K. Burnell Evans has word from last night’s School Board meeting that Armstrong High School will be closed today:
The Richmond School Board voted Monday night to close Armstrong High School today to allow for the emergency repair of a failed cooling system that would cost about $1.5 million to replace.
Assistant Superintendent Tommy Kranz said Monday that he hopes maintenance workers will be able to patch the machine, which had been limping along for two weeks until shutting down late Monday afternoon.
seriously? I am not running AC in my house right now. Havent been for a couple of weeks.
School get hot quick with that many bodies. I was at MLK when the AC wasn’t working and it’s *miserable*.

The air conditioning system at Armstrong High School is expected to be fully operational tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30. All students and staff should report as normal.
