“Don’t be dumb like me, clean out your car”

My car got broken into at about 1am this morning at the corner of 24 and E. Marshall. Someone smashed in my passenger side window. I had some running shoes stolen (have fun with those thief, they have a hole in the heel.)

While that sucks, I wanted to say thanks to the good Samaritan who observed it happening and loudly shouted, ‘THAT’S MY CAR *expletives/name calling*!!! GET AWAY!!!’ The thief ran away before he could get anything else.

The good Samaritan alerted my neighbors, who called RPD, who were a block away and were able to respond (and alert me) almost immediately. A big thanks to the police officers who responded.

The GS headed to Patrick Henry afterwards before I could thank him. I couldn’t go in and thank him (gaping maw of a window,) but I did send the door guy in with some money to buy GS a drink in thanks.

Hopefully he got it. But it bears repeating, THANK YOU so much. This could have been a lot worse.
