Armstrong/Legacy 2020 claims 3rd in Virginia NICA races
Armstrong Cycling, this year reformed as Legacy 2020, again grabbed 3rd place in the statewide interscholastic mountain bike finals this past weekend at Woodberry Forest School:
Where is all of this going? The team, for the second year in a row, finished 3rd in the state of VA.
The highlights were all around. Our bus stop fighter, JaQuise, finished 3rd in the state in the Sophomore Boys division. Jasmine has written some of the most beautiful poetry I’ve ever had the privilege to read; she fought to hold onto second place, and second overall, in the JV Girls division. And the broken-tooth-youth, Darrell, went on to finish 4th in the state for Freshman Boys.
As a side note, Youth Coordinator, Matt Kuhn got him over to Angus Dentistry/Virginia Dental Sleep Therapy on Monday to get that painful molar tooth fixed. Lavone, DeMonte (Nut), Tawante, Trevon, RaQuan (Turtle), Robert, and Korey all put in their best performances to date.

Y’all are awesome! You are fierce competitors and your grit and perseverance are inspiring. You’ve represented Virginia and Richmond well. Congratulations!!
Congratulations to the kids! They are indeed awesome. However, I found the way they are described to be demeaning.
Cynthia: I follow RCC and the Legacy team cpretty closely and I can assure you that no one involved with RCC would ever do or say anything that would demean these talented young athletes. The RCC team is devoted to these kids and the Legacy program. Take a closer look at their program and I promise you will be impressed.
