Bloomfield’s closed, building gutted
11/15/2015 11:15 AM by John M
Bloomfield’s Market at 823 North 24th Street closed for good on October 31, after being in business since 1961.
The 1st floor of the building has been gutted, but the city’s online search for Permits and Inspections doesn’t show anything that would give any indication of what is going in.
Neat fact: Bloomfield’s held the 2nd oldest ABC license in the area (after the 2300 Club).

Did it originally have a balcony over the sidewalk? If so, could they please put it back? (wishful thinking probably. Regardless, charming building)
Interior demolition requires a building permit. If the work is simply removing store fixtures and furnishings, that would not require a permit.
@urbngrilla – looks like the 1st floor is down to a shell (no floor left)
Last permits issued for this address date to 1992.
According to tax records, it sold 9/18/15 for $90k to “MURSHED GHANIAH MOHAMED”. If work is being done without permits, someone should probably report it
