Just shy of three years after first mention here, the Jefferson Park Fountain is being installed this morning.

That was not there when I walked the dog.
Woo Woo! Worth the wait!
They moved fast this morning when the crane came. Sun came out just as the last tier was getting off loaded. https://www.facebook.com/fojp.rva/
Beautimous!!
Hmmm… seems a bit small for the surround pool size – disproportionate. And not as large as the original one in the park years ago.
I dig it
Thanks everyone. It’s been a four-year labor of love and I’ve only been in the last year. YIKES. I predict a hell of a lot more prom and engagement photos there. But very peaceful with a view.

Wow, just wow. Do YOU have size/proportion issues?
Please focus on it’s beauty, and all the *hard* work that led to it’s fruition.
@10 and 11
Your hard work is appreciated!! It is beautiful and it is appropriate. It is good to see something that is to be enjoyed by everyone and not just a few!
Thanks everyone for your support of the Jefferson Park Fountain project. Just to be clear, the Fountain was donated by the J. Fulmer Bright Foundation and installed by the City of Richmond. The project was shepherded by the Friends of Jefferson Park and the City Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities. We look forward to a grand ribbon cutting in the next month or so. If you want to be involved with the Friends of Jefferson Park,, we sure could use your time and energy. Lots of work to do. 🙂
@11 Aesthetically it is a bit off balanced. The base looks overbuilt by 3 bricks high or 2 feet too wide in diameter. I am assuming the fountain came from another location by the photos when the project started and the ring seemed smaller at the original location, that is all I am saying. I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth with the fountain itself. I am glad that we have it. 🙂
Does anyone know what happened to the fountain that was at Patrick Henry Park which was also removed years ago?
