The agenda for the Monday, March 28 meeting of City Council (PDF) includes 2 items of specifically local interest:
- ORD.2016-081 To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to accept a gift, valued at approximately $61,591, from the Friends of Jefferson Park of fitness trail equipment for the purpose of replacing existing fitness trail equipment of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities located on the grounds of Jefferson Park at 1921 Princess Anne Avenue.
- RES 2016-R014 To approve an expenditure in the amount of $1,000.00 from the Council Districts Funds for the Seventh District to make a donation to Girls for a Change to defray costs associated with its 2016 Date with Dad Dinner and Dance.
In addition, Carl Otto has applied to rezone Garber’s Warehouse at 2201 East Franklin Street from M-1 light industrial to B-5 Central Business District which would allow residential and mixed-use. The Downtown Master Plan lists the area as an Urban Center District which recommends 4-6 story heights and a mix of uses in a walkable environment.
