Have you seen Denver the cat?

From Kristie:
Missing Cat: I went on a trip last week and I haven’t seen my cat since I returned on Monday. He isn’t wearing a tag. His name is Denver. He’s grey and white. He was born with a short tail that has a funny crook at the end. I miss my friend.
TAGGED: pets
At the end of last week, I saw a Grey and White cat hanging out around 21 St and M St. We keep food out for the outside cats. This cat had not been here before. I know most of the regulars that come around. I did not get a good look because it was dark and it ran off quickly; it seemed scared. I have not seen it since. I will keep an eye out for it again.
This isn’t the safest neighborhood for outdoor cats who are free to roam. If your cat gets picked up by Animal Control and isn’t wearing tags or doesn’t have a microchip, Animal Control will hold your pet for a much shorter period of time than if your pet had some identification (an indication of pet being owned). After the brief stray period is up, they can either put the pet up for adoption or euthanize the pet, both of which depend on the shelter’s current capacity. I strongly urge you to post lost reports with local vet offices, the City of Richmond Animal Care & Control and Henrico County Animal Control. Also post lost reports on Nextdoor.com and Craig’s List. Here are links to two resources that offer information on what to do if you have a lost a pet. http://www.richmondgov.com/AnimalControl/LostAndFound.aspx

Good luck and do let us know when you find him.
Denver showed up at my door two weeks ago. He’s super friendly. He’s on my porch every day! My wife loves him! Drive over to the corner of clay and 35th. You’ll see him chillin on one of the porches near 3417.
BTW… He’s been eating daily. We picked up a bag of food just for him. (Pretty sure the neighbors have been feeding him, too.) 🙂
Yep. We just call him Kinky Tail. Super awesome kitty!
I agree. Cats not on leashes or indoors are not exactly safe. There are cruel people around and it has been posted in the past about them using aggressive dogs to kill cats for fun. Then there is of course, the street traffic. Also, like Melissa mentioned, if the city picks him up you may never see him again. You didn’t say if he was chipped or not, Kristie?
He’s sitting on my porch right now. Has been for quite awhile, as in weeks. He goes back and forth between the houses on Clay between Chimbo and 35th St. I FB’d the Kristie who liked the post on the CHPN FB page, assuming it was her, but I haven’t gotten a response. If someone actually knows her, please let her know that her cat is alive, well, and probably a few pounds heavier.
I also messaged on Facebook, emailed through the city lost and found, and emailed directly with no response. I’m willing to take him! My wife certainly loves him.
Say goodbye to Kinky Tail, Gandalf, or Cat (whichever name you decided to use). I’ve found the owner. They will be reunited this evening. We will miss him.
