- UDC No. 2016-11 Final Location, Character and Extent review of rental outpost for the Richmond Cycling Corps’ Kickstand at 3011 Water St; UDC No. 2016-11
This Richmond Cycling Corps’ Kickstand will be a seasonal bicycle rental and service station along the Virginia Capital Trail on the city-owned parcel at the former cement towers that were demolished last year. The facility will be a freight shipping container retrofitted for this purpose, facing the Capital Trail.
In addition to the Kickstand rental services, Richmond Cycling Corps is proposing to form a cadre of trained, paid “ski patrol” style safety officers on the trail that will use the Kickstand structure as a home base.
Richmond Cycling Corps is an outreach program which uses cycling to connect with youth in public housing, responsible for the Armstrong Cycling Team, MLK Cycling Team, and the Armstrong Bike Park.
