East End Transformation meeting this Thursday
The next meeting in the East End Transformation process is set for this Thursday, May 12, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Woodville Elementary School (2000 North 28th Street). Dinner will be served starting at 6:00 PM.
The plan at its core is to redevelop the Creighton Court public housing community as a mixed-income community on the old Armstrong High School site, with the broad goals of seeing improvement in schools, safety in the community, resident health, and economic development.
Originally pegged at 12-18 months, the planning process has been underway for just over 3 years. A 2014 post said that construction was tentatively scheduled for 2015; an article from October 2015 said that the first units could be ready in 2017. A post from 2015 had the demolition of old Armstrong slated for June of that year.

A couple of questions, in hope of answers:
Has anybody spoken to James Minor, or any of the other folks who might have insight into what is going on with this process recently?
And do I understand correctly that this is a city/Rrha/BonSecours effort? Are there other entities involved?
I hope to get to the Thursday meeting for a more solid update.
This is City of Richmond & RRHA, no Bon Secours.
Me too. Thanks for the heads up, and the clarification.
Thank you for putting this in the context of previously published timelines, John.
#4…absolutely. Thanks John
