Birdhouse Benefit Dinner @ Sub Rosa

06/06/2016 1:47 PM by

Sub Rosa will be hosting a benefit dinner for the Birdhouse Farmers Market on July 10:

Help support the Birdhouse Farmers Market by gathering for a feast! We will be serving a multi-course, family style meal using the abundant and diverse offerings of our market, with a collaborative menu conceived and prepared by a group of local food makers: Evrim Dogu & Evin Dogu (Sub Rosa Bakery), Autumn Campbell & Brian Garretson (Tomten Farm Suppers), and Paul Winston (Dutch & Co.). This is an experience not to be missed. We will commence at 6pm Sunday July 10th for a celebration of local food and the rebirth of our beloved Birdhouse Farmers Market.

Tickets are $100 per person including drinks and gratuity. Donations over ticket price are welcome. Seating will be located in the bakery and outdoors on the patio. All proceeds will benefit the Birdhouse Farmers Market!

The Birdhouse Farmers Market, Richmond’s food focused mid-week market, is in it’s 10th season! This is a big deal for the market’s vendors and customers since its parent nonprofit, the William Byrd Community House, ceased operations in November 2015 after 92 years. This past Winter a group of market enthusiasts, vendors, and the former manager banded together to make sure the market continued on and thankfully this has resulted in new partnerships and a new home just a few blocks away from the original site, in the heart of Richmond’s historically African-American West End neighborhood, now more commonly called Randolph. Although the market is off to a great start of the season, it is still in need of financial support to grow as an independent organization. What better way to help than to partake of all the goods the market has to offer in this delicious dinner served by some of your favorite locals.
