PREVIOUSLY:
Progressives won’t vote for Berry, so unless you want Morrissey as your mayor, we all need to stop messing around and support Stoney. He’s not my first choice either, but he’s the only one who will beat Morrissey.
That says really bad things about progressives, are you really saying they are just Trump supporters flipped over?
And I’m voting for Stoney…
I think Berry is seen as the conservative candidate here, relatively speaking. Evidenced by his strong support in the 1st.
A lot of my younger / white / liberal friends are undecided between Baliles and Stoney, none lean Berry.
Dunno if I’m progressive anymore, but I’ve turned to Stoney as well. He’s the only candidate with the upside to beat Morrissey in the 7th, and looks to be able grab 2nd place city-wide and make a run-off.
Morrissey is going to win. Berry a close second.
The full report says that 3/4 of responses were collected from landlines and only 1/4 from cell phones, with 1,850 responses collected altogether. I don’t know if that methodology is acceptable in polls anymore. I don’t think I know anyone in my friend group (25ish – 40ish) who have a landline. Even my parents who are in their 70s don’t have a landline anymore.
Most people I knew are split for Stoney and Baliles.
With a third undecided, it’s anyone’s race. It’s also clear when comparing this to previous polls, that among the decided Stoney is surging, and Berry is growing steadily, while Morrissey is losing ground.
I would be curious to know what percent of Richmonders have a landline though…..
This campaign used to be about schools and getting control over city operations. Levar has talked to experts around the state about what to do when he gets into office. The best way to conduct comprehensive audits, how to bring the city around. There still time, go talk to him. He’s got the best ideas, he’s energetic, and he is prepared to begin work. The more people that meet him, the less likely Morrissey takes it.
