Tree collection and recycling event bumped to next Saturday
The City’s annual “Bring One for the Chipper” Christmas tree recycling event has been rescheduled due to the weather forecast of impending snow.
The new date is Saturday, January 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1710 Robin Hood Road (northeast corner of Robin Hood Road and North Boulevard).
The Department of Public Works will collect trees curbside through January 20 for residents who contact the City’s 3-1-1 Call Center. Please be advised trees left out with your supercan may not be picked up on regular trash collection days because a separate truck is needed to collect them
The event also will include electronics recycling and document shredding.
Residents can bring up to five boxes of paper for shredding. Small electronic items accepted for recycling include, but are not limited to, printers, computer monitors, radios and microwaves. Depending on the size, the fee to dispose of televisions is $10 to $20. There is no charge for all other items.
