Oooh I wonder what’s cookin’ with THAT!
I, for one, eagerly anticipate our neighborhood descending into chaos, fear-mongering, and backbiting in the fine tradition of Captain Buzzy’s seeking an ABC license!
Hasn’t it gone far enough already, I have seen people come out of there with smiles and the look of satisfaction on there faces like they just got their fix. Caffeine and chocolate are gateway drugs. Caffeine free tea for me.
Think this will happen again?

Or are north of Broad folks a little more…easy going.
Heck, let’s make ABC on/off the norm for *every* business! ?
No we will not see the Buzzy’s debacle as that was personal towards the owner and not business or community focused at all.
Please #4, NOB folks are way more easy going and, more importantly, interested in growth and change. For Sub Rosa, bring on the ABC. For another Blue Wheeler wannabe, no thanks. Why? Because we want to change and grow.
ABC: always blocking commerce?
#7 translation = As long as it’s down the white way, i mean right way.
The Captain Buzzy’s debacle was in part, fabricated by uptight NIMBY people and the case was dropped.
I don’t see where there would be a problem at this location.
.
Sub Rosa will not have a problem getting a license because it’s well managed. I know quite a bit of how Buzzy’s operated so it wasn’t all due to panicked ‘south of Broad’ elitist, white folks.
@6 Liz and @11 SueWho, so true.
#5, you’re right, we should be aware of the slippery slope. Next thing you know, we’ll be grabbing growlers at Hill Cleaners, and sipping wine at Shockoe Bottom Tires. Then what, dancing? Skirts above the ankles?
