Recommend someone to refurbish an old claw foot bathtub?

Have any recommendations?
I’m looking for recommendations for a company or individual to refurbish my old claw foot bathtub. The recommentations page in the Church Hill Association newsletter has nothing listed. I’m sure with all this old houses and baths around, someone must have had the same problem before.

Needless to say, if done locally, the price will be well over $750. However, and this is a bit of a goose chase, there is a guy in Bedford that does it for nearly half the price. Not only that, he picks up and drops off. I’ve seen a few examples of his work from previous neighbors. Worth a google.
Caravati’s has a guy in Goochland and Governors Antiques does them as well. Also maybe A&R. Think it’s around $400-$500.
We worked with SPR of Richmond . Excellent work! 804-730-1388.
RJ 804-869-2603. He is also wonderful and gives a 5 year warranty!
We used SPR as well and were very happy with the results. Still looks great 3+ years on. I would stay away from painting it personally as some people will do.
A and J Resurfacing has done well by us. 4-500$ ish.

I second Dubois2. A&J Resurfacing is great. Have used them twice on old cast iron tubs and I’ve been nothing but pleased with the finished product.
