From Joshua, yesterday: “My wife just found these dogs at 27th and Q. They notified RPD who has called animal control.”

TAGGED: pets
Yes these are my dogs did animal control take them?
These dogs are always out! I believe they belong to someone close to P and 29th? The little one charged at me and my dog the other day before he realized he was up against a 65 lb pit bull and thought better of it. Glad y’all got a hold of them!
"Hey I found a puppy, better call the cops"
Leland – have you ever tried to call animal control? Impossible – you get into this phone tree that never actually gets you to a place where you report loose dogs.
@#3- Church Hill has a problem with people being …ehm.. less than vigilant about keeping their dogs under control. There’s also a problem with people not wanting to make waves/not wanting to report problem animals. So when community members finally get fed up about certain dogs escaping 10 times too many and do call RACC, there’s no paper trail about months/years long problem, and RACC can’t really do much.
But, yeah- police can’t actually do anything about animals other than call animal control themselves.
@#1 Nikki Daniels – The small black and tan dog belongs to you? It has been aggressive towards my dog while I was walking her on a leash. My dog is a lot bigger than yours and I would hate for something to happen.
@#5 I completely agree. Why is it so common in Church Hill for people to not care for their dogs?
They got out again please lwt me know if u see
@Nikki Daniels, per Nextdoor.com, your pups are safe and are with Richmond Animal Control.
@Nikki Daniels mircochip you dogs and put your phone number and address on the leash
Your dogs are going to end up seized by animal control if you don’t resolve your problem with them getting out. I’d hate to see that happen to them so please, be their guardian and take care of them.
@nikki This is going to sound harsh but if you can’t properly control your animals please take steps to remedy the situation or find someone who can. You are opening yourself to a giant liability if something happens involving your dogs
Nikki Daniels my name is Brandi and I found your dogs. My husband made the post. Both dogs are at richmond animal control because we did not know last Friday who dogs belonged to. I would love for you to get the dogs back quickly.
Where did you find the dogs? Were they in hiding?
