Have you seen Izzy?

From Rebekah:
I am cat sitting an old tabby/white cat that likes to wander or take very long naps and resembless the Imperial Walker. He is loved and has a lovely home, but was a street rescue so has some tendencies that we have not been able to change. He has not come home in 3 days.
I saw him briefly Saturday morning, but has been spending a lot of time hiding and I fear he is not feeling well, or got locked in someones garage.
I want to take him to the vet but can’t find him and wonder if he has adopted another family? Please call 336-263-9709 if you have seen him. He goes by Izzy and is pretty chill.
What block? Not that I’ve seen him, but that’s some important info.
What area is he missing from please?
In what area of Church Hill does he live?
23rd and Broad or 24th and Marshall area
Have you checked the construction site at 24th and Marshall? Maybe he got stuck in one of the apartments/buildings?
Do cross post this on the Nextdoor.com neighborhood website.
Other suggestions… Put out some of his bedding/toys on front or back porch.
Go out at dusk and walk several blocks in all directions calling his name and shaking a bag of treats. At the very least, it will keep him close.
Report him missing to Church Hill Animal Hospital & ask them to check their found reports. Do same for RACC (Richmond Animal Care & Control). Always best to go there in person and look for yourself in case he was picked up. 1600 Chamberlayne Avenue.
You can post a missing report on the Richmond Animal Control website (part of the city of Richmond’s web site) and the Richmond SPCA’s website. The SPCA does not take in strays, but their website offers a lost & found reports section and advice about finding a lost pet.
Put some lost flyers (with photo) up at all neighborhood businesses like coffee & pastry shops.
Best of luck to you & please post again when you find him.
HE showed up in my back yard this evening! I feel someone thought he was a stray and let him in. He must have been fed because he had no interest in eating dinner! I took him home and he just complained about being fed and put inside. Funny guy. Thank You Everyone.
So glad you have him back!
Hope he checks out okay when he goes to the vet.
