From Jennifer D. Mullen of Roth Jackson via Cynthia Newbille:

Josh Bilder has been working with the Post Office over the last few months to coordinate the work within the Post Office Building. Work began on Monday, July 24 with asbestos abatement within the building. This work is expected to be completed Friday, August 4.

The roof work began July 24 with the replacement of the coupling cap. The roof patching and replacement will begin next. In connection with the roof work some of the off-site trees may be trimmed through coordination with the property owners.

On the interior, the Post Office has removed all of its property and the entire interior space will be repainted, new flooring installed and the employee restrooms will be renovated. The mason will begin work on the interior August 9.

Upon completion of the interior items, the Post Office will move their property back into the space. All construction related items are expected to be completed by August 25 to allow the Post Office time to move back as soon as possible.

Josh is committed to getting the Post Office in full operation on 25th Street, is working closely with Post Office officials and will provide another update on August 11.

The post office on 25th Street closed suddenly in early April of this year.
