Matt Klimas’ Grim Acres is a clever and spooky little card game
09/21/2017 6:32 PM by John M
Local illustrator/musician/creative person Matt Klimas has released his Grim Acres card game just in time for Halloween:
Push the gate open, if you dare, and step onto the mist-filled grounds of Grim Acres. The overseer, Morticai Grimsly, has been waiting for you. He solicits your help in architecting his garden of gloom.
Quickly outbuild your opponent(s) in this casually creepy cemetery game. Ghosts included.
2 to 4 Players | 5–15 Minutes | Ages 13+
Want to pick up a deck? Order online or hit Matt up if you’re local.

Thanks John!! 😀
Are you selling these locally? Like at one of the neighborhood gift shops?
The game is not currently in local shops, BUT I am in process of reaching out to a few! Please check the website and Instagram for local availability updates.
Matt Klimas (If you see this…) – I’m curious to know: Is this the first game you’ve designed? What was the process like? What inspired you? I really like the card art, by the way.
@Lee Thanks for your questions and interest! This is not the first game I’ve worked on, although it’s the first to come to full fruition. I’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding inspiration and process for the game, so I will try to follow up with a more in depth post I can share with everyone soon. Thanks!!
I was interviewed on the Play Dead podcast about the game. You can listen to the episode here:
