Meeting set on Jefferson Avenue Pocket Park

Almost 3 years ago, Scott Wiley’s Two Hill Park was named the winner of the Jefferson Avenue Pocket Park Design Competition. Wiley’s design was envisioned to have two hills, a water feature, trees, benches, and a gateway sign, all arranged to echo the connection between Union Hill and Church Hill.

Wiley says that his design for the triangular parcel bounded by Clay, Jefferson, and 23rd Streets “celebrates the rich history of two adjacent communities, fosters respect and stewardship of the natural environment, affords environmental education, and preserves valuable green space for future generations.”

The original goal was to have installation sometime in 2016.

This past July, a similar design was brought before CAR.

Next up? A Pocket Park Community Conversation on Tuesday, October 3, at 6:00 PM at the East End Library with representatives from BHCyp.
