Jones faces 21 counts of animal cruelty, dogfighting
03/01/2010 4:57 PM by John M
nbc12 has a report on 2 dogfighting cases in Richmond, on of ’em on the 1700 block of North 23rd Street:
Jones is facing 21 counts of animal cruelty and 21 counts of dogfighting. He’s accused of running the operation out of a home on North 23rd Street. Animal control officers say they began investigating after getting a tip in mid-January. They say they found 21 dogs on the property, most of them were pit bulls, some were a pit bull mix.
It seems like the city could’ve seen this one coming: Virginia Courts Case Information shows that a Deano Alphonsus Jones faced 13 charges for NO BREEDING PERMIT FOR DOG and NO CITY LICENSE FOR 13 DOGS in 2007. He also had 5 charges of TETHERING in 2008.
So here he is in 2010 with 21 more dogs… I wonder how many died unnecessarily along the way.
No surprise that this despicable activity continues in Richmond City , considering that Micheal Vick was voted the “Ed Block Courage Award” winner by his teammates on the Philadelphia Eagles.
What kind of signal does THAT send?
Far too many people simply don’t see anything wrong with dog fighting, and even most of those who do find it personally distasteful don’t feel it’s something serious enough to be punished for.
Can we tie some raw steaks around him and let his dogs get their revenge on him as he so deserves.
Now look at all the dogs that will (best case) go to SPCA and be retrained to be what a dog is supposed to be in our society — a beloved pet. Sadly, a lot of them won’t make the cut and will sit in waiting the rest of their lives. Look at how many they still have from the Vick. It’s really a sad state.
Jones should be (and Vick should have been) strung up and treated like the animals they tortured and killed. Trash like this shouldn’t be on the street. It’s just terribly sad that Jones has had issues in the past yet still is able to house a ridiculous amount of dogs at his home. The city really must be blind or stupid.
As far as Vick goes, the only thing that son of a bitch is sorry for is that fact that he got caught. His team mates giving him an award…pathetic!
too bad the city did not see the writing on the wall. Tipster whoever you are, thanks!
i stole some of this guy dogs when they was puppies, they where nice but he just had way to many, i would have took them all if i knew he was going to do this to them
