Sector 113 report for March
Lt.Martin Harrison’s Sector 113 March report (PDF) for all points north of Carrington and Nine Mile is now available:
After hearing gunshots in the area of the 1300 block of Coalter St., Officers Bryson and Parker conducted a foot patrol. The officers then observed 2 black males approach the area (not seeing the officers), from the 1400 Block of Bryan St. One of the subjects was carrying what was described as an AK-47 style assault rifle. The subject then fired 6 to 7 rounds into the air.
The subjects then ran approximately 1 block, after being challenged by the officers, to a waiting red Nissan pickup truck. The subjects jumped into the bed of the pickup as it sped away. The officers broadcasted a description of the fleeing vehicle and Officer Jinks spotted it as it abruptly stopped in the 1400 Block of N. 21st St. and 3 to 4 subjects ran from it. Recovered in the bed of the pickup truck was a Heritage – Rough Rider, 22 cal., revolver, black in color, ser.# 143185 and a Romarm-SA-Cugr, GP Wasdr-10, 762 Cal.(AK-47 variant), black & brown in color, ser.# SBY307686. No injuries reported.
Damn, looks like someone has been playing too much Grand Theft Auto. I am really starting to wish I had never sold my SKS. I need something substantial when the criminals are carrying AK’s.
Can I just say that our 1st precinct officers are pretty bad ass!? It would no more occur to me to conduct a “foot patrol” after hearing gunfire than the man in the moon. Sign me up for the armored car patrol, maybe, but foot patrol? Impressive.
@Houdon – I agree!!!!!
Hope they are caught. Keep up the good work officers!!
