Mobile food pantry seeking volunteers

Looking for an opportunity to help? Give 2 hours and volunteer with the monthly mobile food pantry at Chimborazo Elementary School on Tuesday, December 6 from 6-8PM.

Communities In Schools at Chimborazo Elementary School, in partnership with the Central Virginia Food Bank, is hosting a monthly mobile food pantry. The food pantry will serve over 200 families from the school with fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and meat. This event meets one of the great needs of the Church Hill and Fulton neighborhood for healthy and affordable food. Volunteers will assign and distribute vouchers to parents/guardians, sort, bag, and distribute groceries to families in need.

A brief orientation will be given at the start of the project. Parking is on Marshall, 29th, or 31st Streets next to the school. Wear comfortable clothing.
