From Lora T.: “The frog who lives in the backed-up storm drain at Chimborazo Park.”
TAGGED: Chimborazo Park
Is that standing water that he’s sitting in? Nice knowing ya… http://chpn.net/news/2013/04/26/city-to-start-spraying-for-mosquitoes-soon_27250/
unfortunately the crayfish is dead, you still can see his shell in the storm water intake wher the frog has his home…….
Bless you Lora,,,,friend to all animals.I remember you helped me save a sweet little helpless white rat one day. I often wonder how he(she?) is doing
Mike, the water flows from the spring above and down the gutter quite a distance at the park. I’ll have to look more closely for the crayfish shell the next time I’m there!
Ralph, the rat found a home with a local rescue group. One member had several rats, and agreed to give him a home.
Its really cool the wildlife that you can find in the city if given a habitat. My wife says I got lazy and just stopped cutting the grass in the back part of our lot, but I preferred to call it my “natural freeform garden.” Anyways, we quickly had snails, all kinds of beetles and bees living in there which I had never seen before on our property.
