Missing this dog?
04/18/2015 12:27 PM by John M
Found dog in Church Hill. Has rabies shots and very friendly. A nice young lady took him to animal control so owner can find him there.
TAGGED: pets
Just found this same guy again on East Broad. Another Church Hillian took him home until we find his owner.
So maybe this dog is now at the dog park? Getting messages all over the place .
Yes, I brought the dog to my place until we found his owner or were able to get animal control to pick him up, but my dog and him weren’t getting along, so I brought him to the park so he’d be safe and let animal control know.
So is this dog still sitting alone in the freaking dog park in the dark?
I tried getting animal control to come and get him yesterday, but they wouldn’t because it wasn’t an “emergency”, and according to the dispatcher, the shelter and animal control were closed by that time, so I couldn’t drop him off anywhere. Again, I tried taking him back to my place to hold on to him until we found his owner or animal control to come get him, but we have a dog, and it wasn’t working out. I fed him and gave him some water, and I thought the safest place would be the dog park instead of him wandering the streets. We went by this morning to check on him, and he was gone. I’m hoping someone picked him up?
As of 8:45 pm last night this guy was no longer in the dog park.
@Timothy — I appreciate your situation and understand about dogs not mixing with dog guests. Hope the city folks picked him up — or even better, maybe his owner got him. Thanks for the updates,
Erin or Irina, I spoke to one of you as you were walking the dog in the 2500 block of East Leigh St.& you explained you had just found him. Can one of you please email or call/ text me? maryanneconmy@yahoo.com or 804-248-8547.
The owners should be grateful to all of you who went out of your way to help him find his home. He could have gotten squished by a car or taken by somebody – well intentioned like you or more likely some dumb kid who would try to use him as a game or stud dog. Thanks!
